Day 1: Transfer to Birding At Mabamba Bay Wetland In Entebbe
After your breakfast right at the agreed time and place, you will meet your driver/guide who will brief you about this Three-days birder experience at Mabamba swamp, located by the shores of Lake Victoria home to hundreds of rare bird species, you will head to the harbour to get a boat that you will use for birding, through the guidance of an expert birder. The ride to the bird’s paradise will offer you amazing views of the airport, the cool breeze from the lake, and the captivating Entebbe landscape. Fishermen will be also doing what they do best, where all the attention is drawn to several bird species at the papyrus, and swamps, at the shoreline. By the end of this day trip, you will have spotted, and learned of numerous bird species in this haven notably the shoebill stork that will welcome you to the open lagoon, jacanas, African pygmy goose, and the pied kingfisher among others. You will have a good taste of a delicious lunch meal, before summing the day with beautiful memories and trickling sounds. After spending over 9 hours here, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stays in Kampala the Ugandan Capital.
Day 2: Transfer from Entebbe/Kampala to Birding Tour in Mabira Forest
Along Jinja Road This new day of birding experience will kick off very early in the morning. You will drive to one of the oldest natural forest reserves and birders’ havens in Uganda last for roughly 2-4hours, through a very captivating route, marked with magnificent infrastructure, busy towns, different BBQ points and an exhausting traffic jam. Mabira forest which at this time will be your destination is located in the Buikwe district between Lugazi and Jinja, covering an area of roughly 306 square kilometers and hosting over 300 bird species. The climate there is very pleasant to birds, which migrate in numbers all year round, thus offering a perfect chance of spotting your favorite. The sound and sights of these glittering birds like the great blue turaco, African grey parrot, black-headed weaver, tambourine dove and superb sunbirds among others will keep you focused on the start of the adventure to the end. Other attractions to look out for include several plant species and many more. This is a full-day activity, with a lunch break, and a sunset drops off.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe or at the Agreed point
In the morning after your breakfast, you check out from the lodge after you will have a nature walk and take a deep breeze and depart to Kampala/Entebbe or to the agreed point of drop-off. Or you will be dropped off at your hotel/lodge or at any place of your inconvenience.
