A 6-days adventure exploring Rwanda safari tour provides an opportunity to experience the country’s diverse landscapes, wildlife, culture, and history. Explore Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills on your 6 Days of Rwanda Discovery Safari tour. You will have opportunity to visit Akagera National Park for a wildlife view and game drive safari, including a boat trip at Lake Ihema and Hike famous Mountain Bisoke in Volcanoes National Park and later have a boat ride in Lake Kivu.Â

Day 1: Airport Pick Up at Kigali and Transfer to Hotel
You will begin your magical holiday tour as you board your fight to Rwanda, a country of a thousand hills. On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked by Sauti Africa Explorers driver/guide in Rwanda, who will transfer you to your booked hotel or lodge. Depending on arrival time you can do a city tour, in which you can visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and the old city of Kigali. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel or lodge.
Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park and Game Drive
After the breakfast by 5am, you will be picked by your driver/guide and head to the impressive Akagera National Park, comprised of a blend of wetland, savannah grassland and woodland. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to rest of the country, therefore meaning that it is not only warmer but drier. Some of the wildlife you will see here include Giraffes, Buffaloes and Elephants as well as a profusion of birds. On reaching to the park, we shall proceed for a full day game drive in search for the wildlife in the park, and if fortunate, we may be able to sight the Shoebill Stork, especially around the shores of the lakes. Thereafter you guide will lead toy back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Early morning at 8:00am go for a boat trip at Lake Ihema to see crocodiles and hippos, as well as sighting a number of bird species. After we shall proceed and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. While on your way to the Volcanoes National Park, you will enjoy the winding roads and scenery along the way to the north with stopover in Kigali to have lunch as we proceed (approximately 5 hours’ drive). Upon your arrival you shall check in at the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Climbing the Volcano Mountain Bisoke
Very early on this day, in the morning grab your breakfast, after you will receive a briefing from the park ranger at RDB Office, before heading for your hiking adventure. Start the climb; you climb to the top of Bisoke volcano and take a look on her beautiful Crater Lake and back to Musanze. The hike takes roughly 5, 6 or 7 hours depending on how fast your hiking experience is. Later after a long hike you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Explorer Cultural and Community Guided Experience
In the morning after the breakfast, visit the Iby’ iwacu cultural village for enjoying their different performances and also explore more about their unique culture after you will head to the red rocks to see the banana beer production. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Lake Kivu for relaxtion at the beach. Later in the evening you will catch your dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Transfer Back to Kigali City or To the Airport
After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu to the different islands and sight different bird species on the lake and later embark on a drive to Kigali, if time permits, visit Kigali genocide memorial ground before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight or at your residence.
